About the author...
Michael Rich began working as a youth director in rural
churches at the age of seventeen. He spent much of his
career working with smaller, poorly financed congregations,
and learned to do business on a shoestring.
He also spent time working in a university setting where
all kinds of technology was at his disposal. It was at the
beginning of the PC era and he learned to use everything
from mainframe computers to the first Macintosh computers.
He completed his dissertation by using the internet to
communicate between mainframes in North Carolina and
Maryland, compiling, analyzing and printing out statistical
data. He was hooked.
He spent many years working with start-up non-profits
across the Southeast and even in Japan. He learned the
power of internet communication while serving as a pastor
in Japan and working with executives from a number of
multinational corporations.
He has published writing and photography in numerous books,
magazines and newspapers, and is a regular blogger on the
Internet.
When he is not at work (it is really hard to tell when he
is at work), he enjoys hiking and taking in fresh air
around his Smoky Mountain home, photographing sunsets, and
spending quality time with his wife and son.
